I wanted to thank all the families for the support all year and the gifts at the end of the year. I love the gift box and mug that the class put together and really appreciated the cards and emails some of you sent. I felt very appreciated.
I know it was very hard for some of the students to leave the class at the last bell but as Dumbledore said to console a weepy giant, "There, there Hagrid. It's not really goodbye after all." And so, it's not goodbye for most students but a "TTFN" as Tigger would say. I have truly enjoyed last year's and this year's cohort. It has been my privilege to be able to share in some of their lives for almost two years and they are incredible people. Have a great summer and again, thank you so much for your thoughtful, gift, comments and words. I have been blessed.

Two parents are putting together a 32 page yearbook. Before we order it, we need to hear back from 75% of the parents.
Are you willing to pay for a $25 yearbook that can be picked up or mailed out in July? Yes or No Please make a comment on this blog page or email me privately at [email protected]. This message was sent home on June 5, 2017 The following post contains a guidelines letter. Please read that first. Thank you. Dear Gr. 7 Parents:
Please send baby photograph and one other favourite photo in as soon as possible. If the second photo was at a school event that would be a nice connection but not essential. Thanks. :-) Camp Jubilee: Today, we sent home a package in regards to Camp Jubilee. Please read this information with your camper. There are several forms that you must complete and return to your classroom teacher by Thursday, April 27th. Thank you for your attention to this material and due date! Farewell: The "Farewell" theme this year is "New York". Farewell will take place on Tuesday, June 27th from 2 to 6pm. We begin with a ceremony for the Sevens from 2pm to 3pm and this is followed by refreshments for everyone. At 3:45, the parents leave and the students have a dance and their own time with the supervision of staff. During their dance time, the students will have a light meal and dessert. The evening ends at 6pm. This past Wednesday, we had a productive first meeting to plan the Gr. 7 Farewell in June. The parents in attendance split into groups to discuss either the decorations for Farewell or the refreshments. As these parent groups prepare for Farewell, they will keep the teachers informed and we will send out any information to our parent groups. For now, the decorating committee has decided to meet again next Wednesday, April 26th at 6:30 pm in the library. They are keen to get started on the decorations and would appreciate your help. If you aren't able to attend meetings, you may be able to help out in other ways. For example, as plans get underway, the decorating team may request the donation or loan of certain materials for Farewell; you may be able to offer help in this way. The parents in charge of refreshments don't have another meeting planned right now. They will be in touch in regards to helping supply some treats for the Farewell. Baby photo: We have two parents who are overseeing the creation of a Gr. 7 Farewell slideshow with the guidance of Mr. Palfreyman. Their first request is a baby photo of your Gr. 7 child. Please send that to your classroom teacher Thursday, April 27th. This photo should feature your child and should be sent via email or on a USB stick. If you only have a hard copy, we can scan that at school and return your photo to you. Camp Jubilee: Today, we sent home a package in regards to Camp Jubilee. Sorry Olivia and Claire.
Good morning everybody!
It has come to our attention that students in grade 7 are unable to select both grade 8 discovery blocks. They are a receiving an error message saying "too many courses are selected". Please be advised that this does NOT mean the classes are full; it is a MyEd glitch that we are working on resolving ASAP. If you could let any parents/students in distress know that we are working on a fix that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much for your help! Papers are coming home today regarding grade sevens registering online for courses at Brookswood next year. White - The white paper is step-by-step instructions to registering on line. This must be done with a parent. Please do not use a phone to go online. A computer will avoid glitches. Pink - The pink paper is the same thing as registering on line and is a backup copy for the high school. Complete the pink form to match the online registration and return it by March 6, 2017 Yellow - Students wanting to be in the CAT-Pac program need to fill this form out and return it by March 6, 2017. Violet - Students who want to join the leadership course (which counts for grade eleven credits) should fill out this form and return it by March 6, 2017. |
